Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Engineering
• Graduate in Textile Engineering with a focus in Yarn or Fabric Manufacturing/Engineering from a well reputed institute

Experience

• At least 6 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Textile

Additional Requirements

• Passionate about Fabrics and Apparel Fashion with commercial awareness

• Must be highly organized and pay great attention to details

• Good knowledge in costing and knowing the current yarn/fabric prices in the market

• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as needed

• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships work as a team

• Should be well-groomed, smart, and energetic

• Strong presentation and delivery skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection

• Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English

• Proficient with MS Office package (Especially, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)

• Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently

• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast paced and creative environment

Experience Requirements

• At least 6 years’ experience in Fabric Sourcing and Development in a reputed buying office

• A strong technical knowledge of yarns, fabrics, print processes, knit/woven construction, fabric finishes, washing techniques and an analytical understanding of color is essential

• Having existing contacts and relationships with a wide range of fabric suppliers will be an added advantage

• Should have basic knowledge of sustainable fashion solutions and material innovation

Job Context

• The Senior Fabric Sourcing Executive will be accountable for researching the new innovative materials and to support seasonal inspiration as well as an archive of ZXY’s seasonal production fabrics. The incumbent will also be responsible for assisting the fabric sourcing department in response to lifestyle, retail and sports category fabrics.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the brand’s research to identify the most innovative materials and arrange those relevant fabrics from new and existing partner material suppliers.

• Liaising with local and overseas partner mills to find the most selling materials of reputed clothing brands and promote these opportunities

• Fabric research as per business needs for lifestyle, sportswear and retails category products

• Ensure new innovative materials from premium and price competitive both points

• Research fabric trends by attending fabric mill appointments and local fabric shows and create fabric resource lists

• Drive the fabric presentation as per required products category throughout the brands` research of innovative materials.

• Maintaining a library of fabrics that are representative of raw materials that could be used in bulk production

• Selecting, identifying, and locating fabrics for Business Units & Design team, as well as offer fabric alternatives in terms of cost, quality, lead time, newness, and sustainable fabrication

• Organize the library brand-wise, season-wise, and category-wise daily

• Strategically work with BU/design team to generate new business through offering the newness of fabrics

• Arrange right fabric collections and material presentation for Buyer’s visit at ZXY HQ

• Liaising with regional fabric technologists to collaborate and share the new fabric ideas and propose these opportunities to customers

• Closely working with design team to understand their key requirements and arrange relevant fabric options and further follow up for fabric sample in house

• Keep a detailed record of the fabric information and in ERP system and in fabric books

• Scheduling fabric and supplier appointments as and when required

• Strategically maintaining the fabric archive for digital and physical fabric library
