Strong knowledge of knit, woven, and denim fabrics, including development and finishing techniques.
Proficiency in fabric testing standards (AATCC, ISO, ASTM, BS).
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
Knowledge of payment terms, LC processes, and supply chain timelines.
3–5 years of experience in fabric development, sourcing, or technical roles in the textile/garment industry.
Experience in working with local and international mills and meeting buyer quality standards.
Responsibilities & Context
Fabric development for knit, woven, and denim categories.
Evaluate and test fabrics for GSM, shrinkage, colorfastness, pilling, tensile strength, tearing strength, etc.
Price negotiation with mills and suppliers.
Review and approve lab dips, strike-offs, and shade bands.
Share color matching comments with respective mills.
Provide technical expertise in knit, woven, and denim fabrics.
Plan and monitor TNA (Time and Action) and lead times.
Bulk fabric follow-up from development to shipment stage.
Daily communication with Bangladesh mills for production updates.
Daily communication with India team for approvals and coordination.
Coordinate with inspection agencies for fabric inspections.
Maintain compliance with buyer standards and international quality norms.
Basic knowledge of usual payment terms, L/C, and delivery transaction timelines.
Maintain records of fabric developments, approvals, test reports, and inspections.
Liaise with suppliers, merchandisers, and production teams to resolve issues.
